Responsibilities

SCOPE OF POSITION:

The QA Tech is responsible to maintain manufactured products at predetermined standards.   This position works with management and production employees to ensure the quality and even flow of production. The QA Tech conducts various testing procedures for quality and food safety and inspects incoming raw materials. This position requires an individual with a high level of analytical, technical and communication skills.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned.

  • Inspects quality of finished products and ensures compliance within standards.
  • Maintains accurate records of test results daily.
  • Operates lab equipment to conduct necessary testing.
  • Examines bag seams, code dates and print quality.
  • If product does not conform to pre-determined standard, product is segregated and hold is documented.
  • Verifies ingredient statement of raw materials and packaging film.
  • Removes and checks product that may be out of standard under direction of Supervisor.
  • Tests raw materials according to established procedure.
  • Does necessary cleaning during and at the end of each shift
  • Notifies Supervisor of any problems, communicates with all production personnel to assure positive flow of production.
  •   SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • Experience in food manufacturing facility working with food quality systems.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft programs (Word, Excel).
  • Detail oriented, organized, reliable and resourceful.
  • Solid decision making skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.

 

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
