SCOPE OF POSITION:

Maintain efficient operation of Poly equipment and ensure quality of product and package.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Must be familiar with plant safety rules, guidelines, and GMP’s and ensure they are followed.
  2. Must have a positive attitude, work well with a team, and have initiative in improving company operations.
  3. Must monitor and maintain inventories to set standards (finished cases and raw materials usage).
  4. Work with area manager and line lead to implement changes that have been identified.
  5. Work effectively with other departments.
  6. Must strive to produce product while in the measures of QA standard and pack rate quotes.
  7. Have equipment ready to run at start of shift or have maintenance personnel working to correct the problem.
  8. Monitor equipment, seams, and codes for proper operation and quality.
  9. Assist maintenance in repair of line equipment.
  10. Position totes in dumping station as necessary to keep line running.
  11. Maintain accurate records through use of BPCS- must be able to Read English
  12. Open, dump, and breakdown totes.
  13. Document all pallets produced for each line running, and reconcile paperwork within shift hours before leaving for the day.
  14. Maintain area clean including inside the robot and palletizer.
  15. Assist with changeovers and provide breaks as needed.
  16. Quality Assurance
    1. Monitor and record finished product quality by application of specified tests.
    2. Conduct quality control checks and record according to written specifications.
    3. Implement hold and rework procedures when necessary.
    4. Audit finished product.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Must be a licensed FTO or be able to obtain a license within two weeks.
  2. Frequent bending, lifting, squatting, reaching above shoulders, etc will be required.
  3. You will be required to follow the Birds Eye Foods attendance policy for the Waseca Plant.
  4. Must be familiar with BPCS.
  5. Must have or obtain operational knowledge of all equipment in the area.
  6. Able to work in a cold environment for an extended period of time.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • BPCS and computer experience is a plus.
  • Solid Communication Skills
  • FTO experience preferred not required.
  • Mechanical ability preferred.

 

LOCATION:

  • Waseca, MN Plant

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Wet, noisy, variable temperature depending on time of year.
  • Ability to work in a very cold environment wearing a freezer suit is necessary.
