    The Ishida / Cartoner Former Package Operator will be responsible for assembling, starting, checking and maintaining all package equipment for proper operation from freezer discharge to freezer warehouse. The associate is responsible for keeping the area in a clean and sanitary condition to ensure food safety and quality assurance.  The Package Operator is also responsible for checking and recording weights, checking and changing lot numbers, code dates and all other checks required by Quality Assurance to maintain SQF (Safe Quality Food); the highest efficiency while adhering to quality standards and reports to Supervisor.

    Responsibilities

     

    Individual must be capable of performing all of the following job duties as required:

    • Must be able to communicate well with others.
    • Start, stop, and clear jams in carton former in a safe and efficient manner.
    • Make adjustments to carton former as needed to ensure efficient operation of line by utilizing SOP for each code or carton size to verify correct speed, etc.
    • Ensure that correct cartons are being used and the carton magazine stays full.
    • SPC training or strong math background.
    • Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds.
    • Trash compactor training.
    • Notify Lead or Supervisor of problems with cartons and complete problem report to substantiate claim.
    • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
    • Responsible for good manufacturing practice which include use of high pressure hot water/ chemical cleaning equipment and general housekeeping duties such as mopping, sweeping, etc.
    • Responsible for adhering to Quality Assurance standards and computerized weight control.
    • Responsible for specific reasons for downtime.
    • May be required to work overtime as needed.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
    • Must follow all OSHA and Plant Safety rules.

    Education and / or Experience:

     

    High School diploma or General Education degree (GED).

     

    Reasoning Abilities:

     

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
